Summer madness! On the hottest day of the year I whack the oven on full blast.
Am I mad? On the hottest night of the year so far I turn on my oven and cook some juicy French trimmed lamb chops from a rack of lamb. Plus I made a sweet potato buttery mash with canned sweetcorn added in at last minute and topped with torn basil. Yum! Now I am full and baking hot! Time for cooling strawberries and cream with an apricot sauce. The back door is open letting in the briefest bit of cool air into the house. I am replete. Next door's cat is soaking up the heat on the path.
