Busy busy busy.

Well folks, I am working for Café Coco Tang now and a week has gone by so quickly. It would be un-professional of me to start doing a blow by blow account of life in a busy café kitchen each day so excuse me if just say that I am thoroughly enjoying working for this company and have been working hard helping to keep the kitchen operational in my position of kitchen porter. It is hard work and long hours but very fulfilling and I am learning a lot about the daily workings of a professional kitchen directly and vicariously.

It is great to be off the dole and working in an environment that I always knew would be good for me and I feel I am making some nice new friends. My theatrical life has had to be put on a back burner whilst I settle in - c'est la vie. I will be continuing my life as a food and travel writer when time allows.

If you happen to be in Nottingham do pop in to Café Coco Tang - the very essence of chic at the end of Bridlesmith Gate. The cupcakes are very yummy and you may even be tempted to stay for a light lunch. I can recommend the steak baguettes and various Panini and there are lots of other interesting food and drink choices to peruse as you enjoy Nottingham café life at it's best.

They might get a bit fed up with all your friends popping in to say hello, as we all know how popular you are! I may give it a whirl in the near future.

Gail'sMan. As much as I love seeing people they wouldn't be allowed to come up to the kitchen and I am working so neither could I keep coming down to say 'hello'.

It looks a great place Phil and I really do think that in a year's time you will look back at how far you have come in the organisation.

Hi Phil - great to see you settling into a job and I hope it goes really well. Looking forward to further updates as and when you can post them.

I fired off an e-mail to you a little while ago - did it get through? Still up for a beer sometime if you are, though it sounds as if your time will be limited now!

Sounds really fun! I would love to work in a cafe like that while I wait for my dream job. Either that or a book store.

Mmmm, cupcakes and steak baguettes!!!

Thanks everyone. The hours are becoming a bit more normal now and I even enjoyed a nice day of yesterday.
