A heart warming video about dealing with food waste.
It is great to know that there is compassion out there when I witness a deal of pathetic greed daily. It is difficult to elaborate without risking my job but a big 'well done' to this guy and his supporters!
As householders we are made to feel guilty if we throw out a spoonful of leftover veg these days. When I hear of the amount of wastage by large companies and institutions it makes me realise that domestic waste is not really the issue. It must be hard to run any kind of catering business, restaurant or whatever and not have waste, considering that you never really know how much of what some people will buy. Same for supermarkets I guess. But it doesn't seem at all fair that individuals should be made to seem inadequate if they create what is a relatively small amount of waste yet the big boys can chuck out tons of perfectly edible produce and it goes largely unnoticed.
I just discovered your blog and I just love it, but since you seem to know Nottingham very well (I just moved here) I'm wondering if you know a good place for soups. You know with this cold weather they are a must, I found some small shops in the back street but still looking for a good healthy soup. Any thoughts? Thanks
