I never knew that tea could be delivered to your home.

My neighbour Joanne took me aside the other day and showed me this lovely tea caddy produced by Ringtons Tea & Coffee Merchants. They are based in Newcastle upon Tyne and have (according to the info on the caddy) forty-three distribution centres in the UK. The tea caddy was produced for the Millennium.

Jo's partner Mick's Father and Mother used to have tea delivered to their home when they were alive and now my neighbours have teabags delivered to their home every month. In a sense carrying on the tradition. I never knew that you could get tea, coffee and biscuits delivered to your home.

I think my Mum used to have these as well as my Grandma. My Mum used to have tea and chocolate marshmallows. We also used to have lemonade delivered by a separate company - seems strange now that Mum didn't just get them from the supermarket!

(she said whilst shovelling mini easter eggs in her mouth)

I'm sure I've seen one of their vans in Beeston every few months. Will have to keep an eye out for it.

Rien plus de vingt FF. Promis?

Gail'sMan: I am sure they are around your area.

Jantte Jones: I remember far too much for an old git and two of the delivery things I recall from childhood are the rattling milk float 'Ernie! and he rode the fastest milk cart in the West!' and the POP van delivering my childhood fave fizzy drink - Dandelion and Burdock! Love to give that one a go again!

I've just been sick actually so I think that counts as negative chocolate. Serves me right.

Phil,
Quand tu commandes des autres gourmandises, peux-tu m'envoyer quelqu-unes?

Dedene: 'autre gourmandises' sounds so much better than other food bits and bobs doesn't it? Answer is of course I will. ;0)

My neighbour told me yesterday that they did/do chocolate covered hazelnuts too.

I think I might be addicted to this blog! Even when I should be doing something else I find myself nipping in to read some of the older blogs.

I'm an Earl Gray girl and intend to indulge myself with his blog only when I have a cup of tea. What decadence.

that's very kind of you Not Waving but Drowning. I try to write one thing a day but sometimes get carried away and end up with two things. Thanks for being a fan Phil :0)

They are a local institution here in the NE. You may be able to get the tea in Morrisons but it's not as much fun as having it delivered. And the biscuits are very good.Check out their website to get the full picture;there is a postcode checker to see where they deliver. But you have to be at home or have a good neighbour.
